Braces and aligners for military families and recruits
Rockwall is home to a lot of service families, and military timelines do not wait for a 20-month treatment plan. Bar Orthodontics plans treatment around your orders, transfers records when you move, and helps recruits get appliance-free before a ship date.
Who the program is for
- Active duty service members and their dependents stationed in or near Rockwall County.
- Reservists and National Guard members whose schedules include drill weekends and annual training.
- Teens and young adults planning to enlist who need treatment finished, or safely paused, before a ship date.
Planning around orders
Orthodontic treatment takes months, and military calendars change. At the consultation, tell us your known dates: a PCS window, a deployment, a ship date, or a MEPS appointment. Dr. Bar builds the plan around them. That might mean choosing an appliance that finishes faster, front-loading the difficult movements, or sequencing treatment so a natural stopping point lands before you leave.
If you move mid-treatment
Your records transfer with you. We provide your digital scans, imaging, treatment plan, and progress notes to the orthodontist at your next duty station, and we coordinate directly with that office so treatment continues without a restart. Transferred cases are standard practice in orthodontics; the planning we do up front is what makes the handoff clean.
Enlisting with braces
Recruits generally cannot ship with active orthodontic appliances in place. If you are planning to enlist, the earlier we see you the better: there may be time to complete treatment, or Dr. Bar can plan a shorter course and remove appliances before your date, with retainers to hold the result. We provide the documentation your recruiter asks for.
Insurance and payment
Dependents covered by TRICARE dental plans with orthodontic benefits can use them here; our team verifies coverage at the consultation. The same in-office payment plans and third-party financing described on the Cost and Insurance page apply.
